KING'S SOFTBALL SWEPT AT LEBANON VALLEY COLLEGE

ANNVILLE -- The King's College softball team dropped a pair of games to host Lebanon Valley College Tuesday in the Monarchs' final non-conference games of the season.

King's dropped the first game 7-1 before falling in the nightcap 7-6 on a walk-off base hit

With the wins, Lebanon Valley improved to 17-11 while King's slipped to 18-18.

In the opener the Dutchwomen broke open a scoreless game with five runs in the bottom of the third inning. King's cut the lead to 5-1 when Megan Beaupre connected on her fourth home run over the last six games. But that was all the offense the Monarchs would generate as King's had eight base hits but was only able to advance two runners as far as third base.

Beaupre led King's by going 2-for-3 while Kelcie Senchak was also 2-for-3. Kristina Kocher (6-4) took the pitching loss for King's, allowing five runs on eight hits in two and one-third innings.

In the nightcap King's trailed 5-3 heading into the top-of-the-seventh inning. Beaupre drew a leadoff walk and pinch runner Mindina Lieback moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by Mackanzie Yori. Kelcie Senchak then stroked a single to move Lieback to third. Lieback then scored on a wild pitch while Senchak moved to third on the play. Brittany McNair then brought home Senchak on an infield out to tie the game at 6-6.

But in the bottom of the seventh, Tianna Yanoscak and Madison Watson led off with singles before and Robin Feaster delivered a RBI walkoff double to end the game.

Ally DeVoir led King's with a 3-for-4 showing while Senchak was 2-for-4 with a triple and scored twice. Bloom was 2-for-4 with a double while Yori finished 2-for-3. Amber Saylor, Beaupre, and Gabby Leary also added doubles for the Monarchs. Nicole Kirse (4-6) took the pitching loss for King's, allowing all seven runs in the game.

King's will close out the regular-season Saturday with a 1:00 PM home doubleheader against Freedom Conference rival Delaware Valley University.
