KING'S SOFTBALL DROPS PAIR AT ALBRIGHT

READING -- The King's College softball team dropped a pair of of games to Albright College Thursday in Reading. Albright won the first game 6-1 before taking the nightcap 3-2.

King's slipped to 12-8 with the losses while Albright improved to 9-7.

In the opener, King's managed just three hits and scored its lone run in the second inning when Mackenzie Yori doubled and scored on a single by Brittany McNair. Monica Burda also had the other hit for the Monarchs. Kristina Kocher was the losing pitcher, allowing six runs on 10 hits with one strikeouts. 

In the second game King's fell behind 3-0 after two innings but scored once in the third when Ally DeVoir reached base on an error and later scored on an infield out by Lexi Wolk. The Monarchs added their final run in the seventh when Gabie Roco singled, moved to third on a double by Allie DeVoir, and scored on a one-out single from Amber Saylor. King's, however, was unable to advance Saylor as the game-tying run. Nicole Kirse was the losing pitcher, allowing six runs, three that were earned, on six hots with two strikeouts.

King's returns to action Saturday with a 1:00 PM doubleheader at Wilkes.
