WILKES-BARRE, PA (September 7, 2018) – The King's College women's soccer team will be back in action on Saturday as the Monarchs host Juniata College in the third of four straight home matches to begin the season.

Emily Harrington and
Danielle Putnam had a goal and an assist each to lead the Monarchs while
Sophia Sacknievich scored her second goal of the season.
Tara Bender recorded her first collegiate victory in goal making four saves.
The Book On The Monarchs (1-1):
- Sophia Sacknievich is tied for third in the MAC Freedom with four points and tied for second with two goals
- Emma Baumbusch and Stephanie Corea have recorded an assist each and lead the MAC Freedom in shots per game. Baumbusch has taken a conference-leading 4.00 shots per game while Corea is second with 3.50.
- Danielle Putnam and Emily Harrington have both scored a goal and recorded an assist this season for the Monarchs.
- Freshman keeper Tara Bender has made eight saves in 146:13 minutes of action this season while facing 18 shots. She has a save percentage of .667. Jess Schenfeld did not face a shot in one half of action in King's season opener against Penn.
- King's has taken 36 shots which is the third most in the MAC Freedom and have allowed 18. The Monarchs also have taken the second-most corner kicks in the conference with 20 and have only had to defend six.
The Book On The Eagles (2-1):
- Juniata enters Saturday's match with a 2-1 record after dropping a 2-1 overtime decision at Chatham on Wednesday. The Eagles began the season with a 4-2 victory over Cairn and an 8-0 victory over Wilson last weekend in Huntingdon.
- Meadow Walshaw-Wertz is fifth in the Landmark Conference with six points on one goal and four assists.
- Paige Bulgarelli adds two goals and one assist for five points while Maya Browning, Amanda Kopacz, and Brooke Rotheram have scored two goals each.
- Bridget Shea and Gianna Canale have split time in goal with Shea starting the first two games of the year. Shea has a 1.12 goals against average and a .333 save percentage in Juniata's two victories. Canale got the start in net on Wednesday against the Cougars and has allowed two goals while making nine saves this season in 114:32 minutes of action.
- The Eagles lead the Landmark Conference with 13 goals scored and 93 shots. They have also taken a conference-leading 33 corner kicks.
- King's is 6-5-2 all-time against the Eagles including a 2-2-2 record when playing in Wilkes-Barre. Three of the past six meetings between the programs have gone to overtime. The Monarchs defeated the Eagles 2-0 last year. All three of the previous meetings in Wilkes-Barre have gone to overtime since the programs started up the annual match in 2011 after an eight-year hiatus in the series.
