BETHLEHEM, PA (January 26, 2019) – Freshman
Mitchell Forgash highlighted a big day for the King's College men's indoor track and field team on Saturday as he won the 800 meters in a school record time at the Moravian Indoor Invitational held at Rauch Fieldhouse on the campus of Lehigh University.
There was no team scoring at the invitational.
On the Track
60 Meter Dash
Emmanuel Edoukou finished eighth overall out of 44 runners with a time of 7.24 seconds in the first of six heats. The sophomore finished fifth in the heat.
Richard Kell finished third in the fifth heat with a time of 7.65 seconds.
James Powell was seventh in the sixth heat with a time of 8.59 seconds.
Cameron Dobbins finished first in 7.04 seconds edging Patrick Monahan of Division II East Stroudsburg in 7.10 seconds. Uday Samavenkata of Stevens won Kell's heat in 7.56 seconds while Spencer Daugherty of DeSales won the sixth heat in 7.59 meters.
200 Meter Dash
Emmanuel Edoukou had another top 10 finish as the sophomore was seventh overall out of 42 in 23.35 seconds. He won the third of nine heats by 0.40 seconds over Georgian Court freshman Emeron Hernandez-Mayers.
Richard Kell was second in the eighth heat with a career best time of 25.02 seconds while
Cole Horan ran 26.32 seconds in the ninth heat to finish third out of four in the heat.
Cameron Dobbins of Rutgers-Camden topped the field in 22.28 seconds while Alex Kainer of Stevens was second in 22.44 seconds. Spencer Daugherty of DeSales defeated Kell with a time of 24.93 seconds in the eighth heat while Scranton's Keyser Leepier won Horan's heat in 25.21 seconds.
800 Meter Run
Mitchell Forgash won the second invitational of his career while lowering his school record once again out of the second of five heats. The freshman ran 1:58.75 and won his heat by nearly three seconds. DeSales senior Patrick Ludlow won the first heat and finished second overall in 1:59.06. Forgash bettered his previous time of 1:59.24 he ran two weeks ago.
1 Mile Run
Daniel Michels finished seventh in the fourth heat with a time of 5:12.41. Andrew Fellin won the heat with a time of 4:46.42. Elizabethtown junior Samuel Gerstenbacher topped the field of 47 in 4:20.05 while Moravian's Greg Jaindl was second in 4:20.28.
3000 Meter Run
Michael Duncklee finished 12th in the second heat with a time of 10:07.98. The senior was 28th overall out of 32. Freshmen teammates Colm Smith and Christian Schaaf of Elizabethtown topped the second heat with times of 9:19.49 and 9:19.51. The first heat finish wasn't as exciting as NYU's Ben Haderle finished with a time of 8:57.64. Joseph Zisa of Ramapo was second in 9:00.51.
Distance Medley Relay
The quartet of
Mitchell Forgash,
Michael Duncklee,
Kevin Wrobleski, and
Daniel Michels had a time of 11:47.51 to finish ninth in the second of two heats. Elizabethtown won the heat with the meet's best time of 10:50.55. Ramapo won the first heat to finish second in 11:00.00.

Pole Vault
Freshmen
Kevin Wrobleski and
Zachary Matson did not record a mark with both missing on all three of their attempts at 3.65 meters. Pete Roach, an unattached student-athletes from Ramapo topped the field with a height of 5.00 meters (16'4.75"). Stockton's Qudratullah Qadiri was the best collegiate finisher in second place with a height of 4.40 meters (14'5.25").
Long Jump
Matthew Nelson broke the school record with a mark of 5.99 meters (19'8") on his first jump. The sophomore fouled on his other two attempts.
Cole Horan qualified for the MAC Championships with a mark of 5.90 meters (19'4.25") on his third attempt. Horan recorded a mark of 5.61 meters on his first attempt before fouling on his second.
Rowan freshman John Owens had a mark of 6.97 meters (22'10.50) on his second jump to top the field of 29. Eastern's Evan Wildermuth was second with a jump of 6.81 meters (22'4.25") on his second and fifth attempts.
Shot Put
King-Shakim Rose continued his impressive start to his career with a school record mark of 13.83 meters (45'4.50") on his second attempt to finish ninth out of 31 throwers. Rose was the only one in the first flight to qualify for the final throwing marks of 13.39 meters and 13.42 meters on his other two attempts before the finals. In the finals he had marks of 13.43 meters and 13.45 meters on his fourth and six attempts. He fouled on the fifth throw. Rose beat Matthew Vine's previous record of 13.73 meters thrown at the Covert Classic in 2017.
Justin Le Cadre finished with a mark of 12.14 meters (39'10") on his third attempt. Le Cadre threw 11.67 meters on his first attempt then fouled on his second.
Jackie Ni finished with a mark of 12.03 meters (39'5.75") on his third attempt. Ni started with a foul attempt before hitting 11.97 meters on his second attempt.
Ralph Casper of West Chester topped the field with a mark of 16.73 meters (54'10.75") on his fifth attempt. Casper fouled on every other attempt and threw 16.03 meters to qualify for the finals. PSAC rival Dominic Walton of ESU was second with a throw of 16.06 meters (52'8.25") on his third attempt. Andrew Kustera of Rutgers-Camden was the best D3 thrower with a mark of 15.20 meters (49'10.50") on his sixth and final throw.
Weight Throw
Jackie Ni was third with another career best throw of 15.80 meters (51'10") on his fourth attempt. Ni fouled on his first throw and then hit a bomb of 15.76 meters on his second throw to qualify for the finals. He threw 15.05 on his third attempt. He then recorded his best mark on his first throw of finals before fouling on his final two attempts.
Justin Le Cadre finished 14th with a toss of 13.51 meters (44'4") on his first attempt. He fouled on his other two throws.
Chris Brinkman of DeSales won with a throw of 16.85 meters (55'3.50") on his fifth attempt. He hit 16.20 meters on his first throw to qualify for the finals. Parker Dimock of Stevens was second with a toss of 16.03 meters (52'7.25") on his fifth throw. He qualified for the finals with a throw of 15.03 meters on his second attempt.
King's will be back in action on Friday when they travel to New York City to compete in the NYU Invitational at the world-famous Armory.
