Malone Highlights Men’s Outdoor T&F with Personal Bests on Day Two of Messiah Multi & Invitational

GRANTHAM, PA (April 10, 2026)—The King's College men's outdoor track & field team continued competition on day two of the Messiah Multi and Invitational on Friday afternoon at Messiah University's Starry Outdoor Track & Field Complex.

Josh Malone continued his strong performance from yesterday by starting out the second day of the outdoor decathlon with a first-place finish in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.81 seconds. He later went on to place 12th overall in the discus throw with a toss of 23.16 meters.
 
The junior standout would go on to post a personal best in the pole vault by earning seventh at 3.25 meters, breaking his original performance by 12 meters. In the Javelin throw, Malone went on to post another personal best performance, as he earned sixth in the with a toss of 38.70 meters. His result was 4.40 meters better than his original record.
 
Malone closed out the decathlon by crossing the line in ninth with a time of 5:24.73 in the 1500-meter run. He totaled a score of 4,404 points, earning ninth overall.
 
In the discus throw, Josh Brown placed 24th with a toss of 36.82 meters, while teammate Brady Rutkoski set a personal best mark of 36.10 meters and broke his original performance by 1 meter. Daniel Mattey earned 32nd at 35.72 meters, Joey Schneider placed 37th at 34.95 meters, Jev Brauer took 65th at 27.20 meters, and Kacy Miller got 72nd with a toss of 21.55 meters.
 
The Monarchs return to action tomorrow morning, April 11, at 10:00 a.m. for day three of the Messiah Invitational, while additional Monarchs will head to Lewisburg for the Bison Outdoor Classic hosted by Bucknell University, beginning at 10:45 a.m.
