A Look At The Monarchs (4-15, 2-6 MAC Freedom):
- After hosting four of the last five MAC Freedom games in McGrane Gymnasium, the Monarchs will now play four of the next five conference games on the road.
- For only the second time this season King's has two people averaging over double-digits in scoring average, as Noah Tanner and Jake Pawliczak are both over 10 points per game.
- Tanner scored 17 points on Saturday against DeSales, his second-highest total of the season bested only by the 22 points against Grove City back in November. The 17 points in a MAC Freedom game was the third-most ever for the sophomore.
- The 25 points for Jake Pawliczak on Saturday was a career-high for the newcomer, besting his previous high of 19 points against Marywood. Pawliczak has now averaged 14.6 points per game over his last four.
- King's has seven players averaging over six points per game, which is still the most of any team in the MAC Freedom.
- The 10 free throw attempts by Pawliczak on Saturday was tied for the most in a game of any player this season for the Monarchs, tying Andrew Hudak's 10 against Susquehanna on December 16.
- Saturday's game marked the first time since the Susquehanna tilt on December 16 that King's has not had a player foul out of the contest. It was also just the sixth contest this year that a Monarch hasn't fouled out.
- This year King's is 3-0 when holding teams under 23 percent from behind the three-point line.
- When the Monarchs score 80 or more points, they've gone 3-0 this season, and just 1-15 when posting less than that number.
- Tyler Millan has posted back-to-back games with double figures, including posting a career-high 22 points Saturday against DeSales. Millan connected on a season-high four triples and made eight field goals in that game.
A Look At The Eagles (12-7, 6-2 MAC Freedom):
- The Eagles are soaring coming into the week, having posted four straight victories including a 10-point win over Wilkes University Saturday in St. Davids.
- Eastern is 6-2 at home this season, going 3-1 in MAC Freedom action in the Gymnasium at St. Davids.
- The Eagles are holding teams to 40.5 percent field goal shooting this season, which ranks second in the MAC Freedom. Their three-point defense is even better, leading the circuit with a 30.4 made percentage.
- EU has struggled from the free throw line as a team, hitting only 66.3 percent from the charity stripe, lowest in the MAC Freedom.
- The Eagles have pulled down 42.6 boards per game, the highest rate in the conference, while their rebounding margin of 6.7 is three rebounds more than the next closest team.
- Darius Washington is fifth in the MAC Freedom in scoring with 16.2 points per game, as his 49 made threes is second-best among conference shooters.
- Michael Bowlers and Austin Duncan are 12th and 13th in scoring in the league, respectively, each posting just under 14 points per night. Bowlers is also third in rebounding with 8.6 per contest.
- Victor Pena, who scored 18 points against the Monarchs in their previous battle this season, is out for the season with an injury.
- Eastern has had 11 different players get a start this season, most of any team in the MAC Freedom.
- Head coach Eric McNelley is in his fourth season as the boss of the Eagles, helping the squad to 31 MAC Freedom wins over the last three years. That's the most of any conference coach over that span.
Against Eastern All-Time: King's is 10-12 against Eastern University all-time, as the two teams split last year's meetings with each team winning at home. Earlier this year, King's dropped an 87-76 decision to the Eagles in Wilkes-Barre.
Up Next: King's will head to the Garden State for finish the season series with FDU-Florham Saturday at 3 p.m. in Madison, NJ in more conference action.
