WILKES-BARRE, PA (March 15, 2019) – The Monarchs will move on to play DeSales University as their next opponent after their double header against Muhlenberg College was postponed to March 28. The Bulldogs will be the team's first conference match of the season.

Lindsey Leppo stood out in her debut as a Monarch totaling three runs, nine hits and two RBIs in her time over spring break putting her at a .474 batting average. She also managed a .950 fielding percentage. Junior
Kris Kocher split 2-2 in the tournament allowing just 17 hits in her 19.2 innings pitched with 15 strikeouts.
The Book on The Monarchs (3-4, 0-0 MAC Freedom):
- King's sits at fourth in the MAC Freedom overall standings behind Manhattanville, Misericordia and Wilkes respectively.
- The Monarchs are ranked first in the conference for batting average (.325) and shutouts (1).
- Freshman Gianna Marsico is to thank for a complete shutout game against Chatham University.
- Leppo and Kristi Ann Skok made waves in their first collegiate appearances. They both lead the team in batting average with Leppo at .474 and Skok .400.
- Junior Mackenzie Yori earned the title of "Toughest to Strikeout" by NCAA DIII statistics making her ranked No. 1 nationally and in the conference.
- Junior Taylor Norris leads the team in runs scored with five and an on base percentage of .423
- The Monarchs have only recorded six errors in fielding so far in the season. Junior Andria Narisi recorded 33 putouts and an assist on 34 chances while catcher Monica Burda isn't far behind with 13 putouts and three assists on 16 chances.
The Book on The Bulldogs (5-7, 0-0 MAC Freedom):
- DeSales is currently fifth overall in MAC Freedom standings with a .257 team batting average with 53 runs on 83 hits, a .333 on-base percentage and a .954 fielding percentage.
- Heather Hall and Kristen Suran both lead the team in batting average with a .429 while Sam Napoli isn't far at .400.
- Aubree Fritzinger ranks first on the Bulldogs in runs scored (8) and hits (12). She has also recorded two doubles and a triple in her 34 at bats.
- Hallie Muffley has secured 10 RBIs and two home runs for 17 total bases. She is second in the conference for RBIs.
- Fritzinger is also one of DeSales top pitchers alongside Heather Hall. Hall has recorded a 1-2 record with one save for a 2.24 ERA while Fritzinger splits 2-2 for a 4.06 ERA.
- Erin Redden contributed 17 putouts and 24 assists including one double play. She is second on the team for putouts behind first baseman Reilly Kerr who has 115 and four assists.
Up Next: King's will stay on the road going to Allentown, Pa. to face Cedar Crest College at 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Monday, March 18.
