WILKES-BARRE, PA (March 22, 2019) – King's College Monarchs will host their first double header at home for the season on Sunday, March 24 against the Manhattanville College Valiants with the first game starting at 2:00 p.m. This will be the first meeting of the teams since last year's Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom Championships where the Valiants beat King's for the title.

Last Time Out: The softball team earned a pair of victories against Cedar Crest College. In the opener King's collected 15 runs on 18 hits and continued their streak of no in-game errors. In the second, the Monarchs scored seven runs off 13 hits with no errors.

- King's moves to eighth in the MAC Freedom standings since playing last.
- The Monarchs are ranked second in the conference for batting average with .353 and first for fielding percentage with a 0.981.
- Junior Kris Kocher pitched another complete game as her record goes to 2-3 Freshman Gianna Marsico pitched her second complete game as a Monarch putting her at 2-0.
- Junior Mackenzie Yori is still among the "Toughest to Strikeout" by NCAA DIII statistics making her ranked No. 1 nationally and in the conference.
- Freshman Kristi Ann Skok has the best on base percentage of the Monarchs with .525.
- Junior Andria Narisi tops the Monarchs with her 56 putouts on 57 chances so far while Yori leads in assists with 17.
- The Monarchs extended their streak of no in-game errors having only six errors on the season.
The Book on The Valiants (10-0, 0-0 MAC Freedom):
- Manhattanville is third overall in the MAC Freedom earning ten straight wins and suffering no losses.
- The Valiants are currently ranked No. 14 in the most recent Fastpitch Coaches Association Top 25 DIII Poll.
- The team leads the conference in batting average with a No. 15 rank nationally (.386) and are third in fielding percentage (.960).
- Sophomore Isela Casillas and freshman Giovanna Liggett lead the team in batting all with a .500 in their over 20 at-bats.
- Liggett is also first in the conference with her on base percentage at .613 while senior Evonne Torres has batted in 16 runners so far this season.
- Second-year Brooke Franson is topping the Valiants in putouts with 65 on 67 chances along with four double-plays while senior Sopia Chapelone has tallied 25 assists in the field for Manhattanville.
- Alycia Feeney and Aarin Hartenstein are dominating in the circle both with undefeated records of 4-0 and combined have only allowed 24 runs on 56 hits.
