WILKES-BARRE, PA (April 12, 2019) – The King's College looks to continue their string of conference wins this Saturday against Wilkes University at home after a 2-0 sweep at Delaware Valley. The Colonels look to contribute to their wins as well after a 2-0 sweep versus Clarks Summit University.

Last Time Out:Â The Monarchs extended their win streak to four games after tallying two Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom wins at Delaware Valley University in Doylestown, Pa. last Saturday.

King's took the first game 6-4 and the second 9-2 against the Aggies as
Mindina Lieback went 3-4 in her at bats and contributed two runs, and an RBI.
Taylor Norris brought in two RBI's while
Gabriella Medina, Monica Burda,
Gena Williams and
Lindsey Leppo all scored a run.

In game two, the Monarchs grabbed eight runs in just the first inning, the most in a single inning all season and just the second time since spring break they registered nine runs.
Mackenzie Yori, Norris, Medina,
Gabby Leary,
Marisa Mauro,
Nicole Kirse and Leppo all made a run and registered at least one hit in their at bats while
Kristi Ann Skok scored twice and brought in an RBI. Norris and Mauro both were credited for two RBI's.

Taking the win in game one was
Kris Kocher (5-5) as she pitched nine strikeouts among her 31 batters faced and allowed only seven hits. Kirse (5-6) was in the circle for game two as she allowed six hits and struck out six batters in her complete game with 28 batters faced.
A Look At The Monarchs (13-12, 3-5 MAC Freedom):
- King's moves up a spot to sixth in the MAC Freedom and continues their streak of victories now at four.Â
- The team is third for batting in the conference at .299 and second for fielding at .968.Â
- Lieback comes off being named MAC Freedom Softball Player of the Week as she finished the week batting .429 and slugging .714 with nine hits, two doubles, two triples, two sacrifice hits, seven RBIs and five runs scored. Lieback went 2-for-4 with a two-RBI sacrifice fly in a win over Albright. She followed that with a two-run, game-winning triple in game two against the Lions. In a doubleheader sweep over Delaware Valley, Lieback went 5-for-8 with two doubles, a triple, two RBIs and two runs scored.
- Leary heads the team in batting average (.371) with Lindsey Leppo not far behind (.343).
- Yori holds the most runs scored with 18 as Norris has 29 hits and Lieback the most RBI's at 16.Â
- Leary also holds 132 putouts on 148 chances and Yori tallies 61 assists with four double plays.
- Yori is third in the MAC Freedom for stolen bases with 11.Â
- Kocher leads in pitching with a 5-5 record and a 2.92 earned run average. Kocher is third in the conference for strikeouts at 51.
A Look At The Colonels (17-12, 4-4 MAC Freedom):
- Wilkes comes off two prolific wins against Clarks Summit University as they are fourth overall in the MAC Freedom.
- The Colonels are fourth in the conference for batting with a .284 and fourth for fielding at .954.
- Gab Giordano and Jamie Martin lead the team in batting averages both well over a .350 while Giordano holds a .643 in slugging percentage.
- Giordano also grabs the most runs scored (21), hits (32), home runs (5) and total bases (54) for the Colonels.
- Jordyn Kondras and Jessie Smith tops the Colonels field game with 1.00 fielding percentages and Smith's 114 putouts on 125 chances.
- In the circle for Wilkes with the most wins is Gracen Stauton who holds a 7-5 record with 80.2 innings pitched and 65 batters struck out.
- Stauton is third in the MAC Freedom for ERA and second for her strikeouts.
