Monarch Women's Tennis Match Notes - Delaware Valley University

WILKES-BARRE, PA (April 12, 2019) – King's College tennis is back on the road for two straight weeks as they first head to Delaware Valley University to take on the Aggies for their third Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom match in a row.

Last Time Out: King's College women's tennis ended their win streak after dropping 7-2 in a MAC Freedom match against DeSales University. The women move to 7-8 and 1-2 in the conference.
 
The two wins of the day were recorded by sophomore Emily Fernandez in No. 1 singles as she battled Achenbach and won in two straight sets. Fernandez then teamed up with senior Natalie Coffee in No. 1 doubles where they took the victory 8-1.
 
The Monarchs were missing starter Alyssa Santarelli who was out with an injury.
 
The Book on The Monarchs (7-8, 1-2 MAC Freedom):
  • King's women move to seventh in the MAC Freedom after this week and have a .400-win percentage.
  • The Monarchs are 4-1 in away matches this season.
  • Fernandez is still ranked first in No. 1 singes among MAC Freedom players with a 13-2 record.
  • Diana Rodriguez has played solidly the past few matches as she is second in No. 4 singles in the conference.
  • Fernandez and Coffee are fourth in No. 1 doubles for the conference.
The Book on Aggies (5-6, 0-3 MAC Freedom):
  • The Aggies are last in the MAC Freedom standings after dropping to DeSales University 9-0 and Eastern University 6-3
  • Del Val looks for their first conference win as they are 2-3 in home match-ups.
  • Nicki Fox is ranked first in No. 6 singles with a 4-1 record.
  • Aubrey Erickson is 2-6 on the season and places eight in No. 1 singles for the MAC Freedom.
Up Next: King's will remain on the road going over to Misericordia University in Dallas, Pa. April 17 for their fourth conference bout in a row. Play will begin at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
