2019-20 King's College Monarchs Men's Basketball Schedule
WILKES-BARRE, PA (June 18, 2019) -- The King's College men's basketball team released its 2019-20 schedule on Tuesday afternoon, and the Monarchs will host 12 home games in McGrane Gymnasium this upcoming year.
The Monarchs look to rebound this year, and will do so early in November as they start their season with back-to-back home games against Penn State Hazleton and Penn State Scranton on November 8 and 12, respectively. King's will then take part in the Susquehanna Trailways Tip-off Tournament at Susquehanna University, which will feature the host River Hawks, Lehman College and Rowan University.
The Monarchs will stay out on the road for their first true road game of the year, taking on the Mules of Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA November 19. King's hosts Elizabethtown College November 23 followed by a road game at Clarks Summit University Monday, November 25 before the Thanksgiving break. King's comes back after Turkey Day to host Marywood University December 1 at 2 p.m. in Wilkes-Barre, finishing action in 2019 with a road contest at Drew University Wednesday, December 4.
King's is off for nearly an entire calendar month before starting 2020 with a home contest against Penn College Thursday, January 2. King's finishes its non-conference slate with a road game at the University of Scranton Saturday, January 4. The Cross County Challenge, hosted in years past between Scranton, Marywood, Wilkes University and King's, has been replaced with single games between the schools this season.
The Monarchs will then focus on Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) play for the remainder of the season, opening conference action with a road game at Eastern University January 8. King's hosts back-to-back MAC Freedom soirees with DeSales University (Jan. 11) and newcomer Stevens Institute of Technology (Jan. 15) before hitting the road to battle FDU-Florham Saturday, January 18 at 3 p.m. in Madison, NJ. King's makes the short trip down the street four days later on January 22 to take on Wilkes University before hosting the final home game in January against Delaware Valley University.
King's finishes the first round of MAC Freedom play on January 29 up in Dallas, PA, making the 20 minute drive up the mountain to take on Misericordia University. King's starts February with another road game at DeSales University, before playing four of the final six games at home. King's will have home games with Eastern, FDU-Florham, Wilkes and Misericordia with the lone road games down the stretch at DelVal and Stevens to end the regular season February 22. If King's makes the postseason tournament, the semifinals are slated for February 26 with the MAC Freedom finals being contested February 29.
The Monarchs will return all five starters from last year's team, including MAC Freedom Rookie of the Year
