WILKES-BARRE, PA (February 1, 2021) -- The College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) announced its 2021 Spring Scholar Teams late Tuesday, and both the King's men's and women's squads earned the accolade amidst the challenging times of the CoVID-19 pandemic. King's men's squad posted a team GPA of 3.43 while the women earned a team GPA of 3.49.

King's was among over 420 institutions nationally to earn the award, which requires squads to post a team semester grade point average of 3.0 or higher. The honor marked the 24th straight semester that the King's women's program has earned the award, each term that Matt Easterday has been in charge of the team. The men's squad has picked up the accolade 22 of the last 24 semesters.

Founded in 1922, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), is the nation's first organization of college coaches. The mission of the CSCAA is to advance the sport of swimming and diving with coaches at the epicenter of leadership, advocacy, and professional development.

"Coach Easterday continues to bring success to Kings," noted CSCAA Executive Director Greg Earhart. "These are some of the best ambassadors of King's College, and Athletic Director Cheryl Ish, Fr. Ryan, and Dr. Paul Moran (Faculty Athletic Representative) can and should be proud of these 39 men & women."
