WILKES-BARRE, PA (June 30, 2021) -- King's College head coach Josh Roosa completed his coaching staff for the upcoming 2021-22 season recently, as he announced that Darren Testa and Christian Mazzocchi would be joining him on the sidelines.

"I am excited to have both Coach Mazzocchi and Coach Testa join my staff," said Roosa. "Christian and I worked well together through some difficult circumstances and his efforts were a big part of the recruiting success we had last season. It is very special for me to add coach (Darren) Testa to my staff; he coached me during my time at Crestwood High School and I owe a lot of my success both as a wrestler and a coach to him. I think he will be a valuable asset to our recruiting efforts and will bring over 25 years of successful coaching experience to King's."

Maccocchi is no stranger to King's College, as he's been at King's since 2010 as a wrestler or as an assistant. He was a four-year starter at 149 under legendary head coach Ned McGinley, earning team captain honors twice. A 2014 graduate of King's, Mazzocchi was a two-time New Jersey high school state qualifier, and has been at King's for seven seasons as an assistant.

"Working with Josh is a tremendous opportunity. Josh has provided much needed direction, leadership and motivation to this program and myself as an assistant since day one," said Mazzocchi. "From the recruiting aspect to reaching out to the alumni base, Josh has been on top of everything. He holds us accountable as assistant coaches and when he puts a task out he expects us to get it done. He truly has motivated me to be a better assistant especially in the the recruiting aspect. I believe I can bring many things to this program and I believe I have over the last seven years as an assistant. I have been a part of this program for the last 11 years, four as a student-athlete and seven years as a assistant. I believe the relationships I have built at kings over the last decade are irreplaceable, and Josh sees that as an asset."

Testa has served as the head coach at Crestwood High School in local Mountain Top, PA, and will bring over 25 years of coaching experience in the area to the program. He will look to bring that experience and local ties to the program this year. " I hope the networking that I have established in my 25 years of coaching in the area and in the state of Pennsylvania will help with recruiting," said Testa. "Josh will establish a winning culture here at King's and I look forward to joining an already fantastic staff. My goal is support Josh and Christian in creating a top level program both in wrestling and academics. The tradition is here, it's our job to recapture it."
