WILKES-BARRE, PA (June 8, 2021) -- The additions to the King's College athletic department continued to come fast and furious, as head women's ice hockey coach Jordan Ott announced the hiring of younger sister Braeden Ott to her staff as an assistant coach. Braeden Ott comes to Wilkes-Barre after a successful four-year career at Neumann University in Aston, Pa.

"We are thrilled to have Braeden join our staff for the upcoming year," said Jordan Ott. "Braeden was a high-level player and captain on a team within the United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) for the past four years, so her experience within the league as well as her game knowledge will help us continue to grow the program in the right direction. On a personal note, having the opportunity to coach alongside my younger sister will be a fun and unique experience that will really bring both of our hockey careers full circle."

"I'm extremely excited about this opportunity to join the King's community and the women's ice hockey program," said Braeden Ott. "The past four years competing against King's on the ice has given me a front-row seat to the progress that this program has made and shown me the tremendous potential that it has for the future."

During her career with the Knights, Ott served as both a captain and assistant captain while earning both UCHC and AHCA All-Academic accolades. On the ice, the Hilton, N.Y. native posted four goals and 13 assists on the back end, serving as a key cog to the defensive unit. Ott was also inducted to the Neumann University Delta Epsilon Sigma Honor Society, while also serving as a member of Chi Alpha Sigma and The National Society of Leadership and Success.

An athletic training major from Neumann with a minor in strength and conditioning, Braeden Ott comes ready to contribute immediately in all aspects of the Monarch program, and her experience at this level and in the league looks to be an asset. "Being a former student-athlete in the UCHC will allow me to better connect with the team and guide them through the difficulties and triumphs they may face on and off the ice throughout their careers," said Braeden Ott. "I hope that the experiences and knowledge I can bring to the staff will help to push the program towards greater success."

"Transitioning from player to coach is always something that I have looked forward too," said Braeden Ott. "The opportunity to work with one of the younger programs in Division III hockey was extremely exciting for me and I'm looking forward to getting out on the ice with the staff and players."

"I have been able to watch her develop over the years as both a player and person, and having the opportunity to work with and mentor her in a coaching role will be an awesome experience," said Jordan Ott. "Braeden is aware of what it takes to compete at this level, and her strong communication skills and personality will make her a great fit for the culture we are building here at King's within our women's hockey program."
