ANNVILLE, PA (October 17, 2022) -- For the second time this season, junior goalkeeper
Ellie Glatz of the King's College field hockey team was recognized by the conference office for her individual efforts. On Monday morning, the MAC office announced that Glatz was this week's MAC Freedom Defensive Player of the Week.
Glatz led the Monarchs to a 1-1 week with 24 saves and an .857 saves percentage while facing 32 shots. The junior made a season-high 14 saves in a setback to Arcadia to begin the week. The Exter, Pa. native then made 10 saves in a 2-0 shutout win at Delaware Valley to post her fourth shutout win of the season.
The player of the week honor is the third in Glatz's career as she tallied her first award almost exactly one year ago on October 18, 2021. On a national scale, Glatz currently ranks 23rd in saves percentage in NCAA Division III rankings with a .806 percentage and 40th in goals against average with a 1.39 mark.
