WILKES-BARRE, PA (July 28, 2022) -- After completing her first varsity season at the head of the King's College women's ice hockey program, head coach Jordan Ott announced the addition of her first Director of Operations. On Thursday afternoon, Claudia Trionfo was named the next Director of Operations for the Monarchs women's ice hockey program for the 2022-23 season.

"We are very excited to have Claudia join our coaching staff for the upcoming 22-23 season," said Ott. "I had the pleasure of watching Claudia grow and develop into a high-level player within the conference during her time at Neumann University, and I believe her skills both as a hockey player and as a leader will translate well into the coaching field."

Trionfo is a recent graduate from fellow-UCHC foe at Neumann University as she received her bachelor's degree in athletic training with a minor in strength and conditioning in 2021. As part of her studies, Trionfo completed athletic training stints for Neumann, Rosemont, and Drexel, as well as Sun Valley High School, Bethlehem Steel FC, and Kinetic Physical Therapy.

"I am excited for the opportunity to work with the King's women's ice hockey program and to be joining a staff that is so committed to continuing to grow the sport and community of women's ice hockey," said Trionfo. "I am looking forward to being able to give back to the sport that has taught and given me so much throughout my life. I hope to have a positive impact on the program and the girls as players and individuals, like my coaches and team staff have had on me."

On the ice, Trionfo led the Knights as an assistant captain as a junior and then as a captain as a senior. The forward earned four nods on the UCHC All-Academic Team throughout her career while tallying 51 points on 19 goals and 32 assists. The Towaca, NJ native was also a member of Neumann's chapter of Chi Alpha Sigma, the Athletic Honor Society, and the National Society of Success and Leadership.

"Knowing her personally, Claudia is an exceedingly kind individual with a love for the game, qualities that I hope our players will strive to emulate as they get to know her this year," added Ott.

Trionfo's duties as Director of Operations will include assisting the rest of the coaching staff with on-ice practices, recruiting, budget management and analysis, equipment responsibilities and other off-ice duties.
