NEWTOWN, PA (December 18, 2023) -- For the first time in 2023-24, a King's College men's basketball player was honored among the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC)'s weekly honor roll as senior guard
Carmine Castiello claimed MAC Freedom Player of the Week.
In a thrilling 100-94 win at Penn College, Castiello poured in a new career high 30 points on 11-for-16 (68.8%) shooting, including 6-for-8 (75%) from three, with four rebounds, two assists, and a steal. The career-performance comes in a great start to his senior campaign as the guard has totaled double digits in all but two games so far this season and leads the Monarchs in scoring (17.4 points per game), made three's (29), and three-point field goal percentage (50%).
The accolade marks the first in Castiello's career and first for a Monarch this season. King's will return to play after the holiday break as they host the University of Scranton on Saturday, December 30 at McGrane Gymnasium and look to extend their current win streak in their final non-conference match up.
