ANNVILLE, PA (May 10, 2023) -- In their latest installment of post-season awards releases, the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) office unveiled the 2023 MAC Freedom Softball teams on Wednesday morning. Junior outfielder Kiersten Krouse and sophomore catcher Harley Sullivan were voted to the All-MAC Freedom First Team, while senior outfielder Bailey Loyack and sophomore pitcher Emily Novicki collected All-MAC Freedom Second Team honors to highlight four from King's College softball.

This marks the third consecutive season King's place four on All-MAC Freedom teams and the 34th consecutive active season that a Monarch softball player collected post-season accolades.

Krouse was a force in her third season with the Monarchs, making a name for herself as one of the top outfielders in the MAC Freedom while picking up her second post-season award in her career. She led the team with a .387 batting average and ranked second with 47 hits, while she placed in the top 10 in the MAC Freedom in batting average, on base percentage, and hits. The junior went a perfect 26-for-26 in stolen base attempts which led the conference. Additionally, she put up 14 multi-hit games this season while surpassing the 100-hit milestone for her career as a junior.

Sullivan also collects her second All-MAC Freedom honors after earning Honorable Mention last season as a first year. She was third on the team in both batting average (.343) and hits (37), second with 22 RBIs, and tied for first with seven doubles. Among MAC Freedom opponents, she ranked in the top 20 in batting average, on-base percentage, hits, RBIs, and doubles.

Loyack puts an exclamation mark on her career with her third consecutive All-MAC Freedom Second Team selection. She led King's with 47 hits, which ranked fifth in the MAC Freedom, three home runs, 23 RBIs, and a .622 slugging percentage, which also ranked fifth in the MAC Freedom. She also went 20-for-21 on stolen base attempts with a .370 batting average, while she posted a single-season record eight triples which led the MAC Freedom. Her stats also rank in the top 20 in batting average, on base percentage, runs scored, RBIs, doubles, home runs, at bats, and stolen bases.

Novicki earns her first All-MAC Freedom honors for her young career as she emerged as an all-around ace in the circle this season for King's. Her 1.53 ERA and 113 strikeouts ranked third in the MAC Freedom this season, while her .216 opposing batting average was fourth. She tossed 105.1 innings and collected 11 wins, while her 113 strikeouts ranks third in a single season in program history.

Lycoming's Kylie Russell was named Pitcher of the Year, while her coach Melissa Montoro collected Coach of the Year honors. Kylie Bryant of DeSales was named Player of the Year, while Misericordia's Gianna Foreman was tabbed Rookie of the Year. The complete 2023 All-MAC Freedom Softball Team can be found below.
