LOUISVILLE, KY (May 22, 2023) -- On Friday afternoon, the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) announced the 373 student-athletes from 174 schools who comprise the 2023 NFCA Division III All-Region teams. Among this year's honorees in Region IV was King's College softball junior outfielder
Kiersten Krouse as the standout collects her first All-Region accolades.
The awards honor student-athletes from the Association's 10 regions with selection to one of three teams. NFCA member head coaches nominate and then vote for the winners in their respective region. All honorees move forward to be considered for selection for the three NFCA Division III All-America squads, which will be announced May 31 online and on-site at the NCAA Division III Finals banquet in Marshall, Texas.
Krouse receives the highest recognition on an NFCA All-Region team since 2016 while marking the fourth consecutive season that a Monarch softball player was honored by the organization. She joins teammate
Bailey Loyack who picked up NFCA All-Region IV Third Team honors last season as a utility player.
The Wayne, Pa. native dominated the Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) this season as she picked up All-MAC Freedom First Team honors. Krouse led the Monarchs with a .387 batting average and ranked second with 47 hits, while she placed in the top 10 in the MAC Freedom in batting average, on base percentage, and hits. The junior went a perfect 26-for-26 in stolen base attempts which also led the conference. Additionally, she put up 14 multi-hit games this season while surpassing the 100-hit milestone for her career as a junior.
