WILKES-BARRE, PA (May 23, 2023) -- On Tuesday afternoon, the College Sports Communicators unveiled their recent honorees of the 2023 Academic All-District® Teams with the Women's At-Large Teams. Among this year's honorees in the at-large division were King's College women's ice hockey sophomore Syd Dahl, field hockey juniors Ellie Glatz and Abby Wolfe, and women's golf juniors Paula Moon and Evie Williams.

The 2023 Academic All-District® Women's At-Large Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the athletic realm and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Dahl had another stupendous season in net for the Monarchs this season, making 22 starts in 23 appearances while picking up All-MAC Second Team accolades. The sophomore finished the 2022-23 season with 900 saves, a 4.54 goals against average, and a .899 save percentage which all set new single-season program records. More records fell for King's women's ice hockey as Dahl set the new single-season saves record as she stopped 79 shots against Nazareth on February 3 before shattering the career saves record with 1,571 career saves in just two seasons. The Colorado Springs, Colo. native and sociology and environmental studies major collects her first CSC Academic All-District® honor in her young career.

Field hockey placed both of their All-MAC Freedom Honorable Mention recipients on the CSC Academic All-District® as they pick up their first accolades as physician assistant majors from the organization. Wolfe was a staple in the Monarchs midfield this season as the junior appeared and started in all 17 games, totaling three points on one goal and one assist off 14 shots with one game winner. She also played her role as a midfielder extremely well, having a strong hand in a Monarchs defensive effort while posting two defensive saves. Additionally, she was the primary inserter on penalty corner opportunities as she was the staple in a majority of the 131 penalty corner opportunities this season for King's. Glatz posted her best season of her career in 2022 as the junior was a force in the cage for King's. She ranked second among the MAC Freedom goalies in saves with a .785 saves percentage while totaling a conference third-best 113 saves. She also finished third in saves per game at 6.65 and fourth in shutouts with four. The junior kept her opponents at bay all season, holding teams to a 1.78 goals against average.

The dynamic junior duo from the King's women's golf team add another award to their list of honors. Moon, a physician assistant major, averaged a score of 86.14 in her seven rounds this season with one individual medalist finish, five top-five finishes, and five top-10 finishes while carding a season-low round of 81 against Wilkes this spring. Additionally, the Bel Air, Md. native tied for 12th at the 2023 MAC Women's Golf Championships. Williams had a standout junior campaign as the Mountain Top, Pa. native led King's with an average round of 84.63 across seven rounds. A human resource management major, Williams finished 11th at the 2023 MAC Women's Golf Championships and carded a career-low round of 77 against Wilkes this spring.
