Box Score WYOMISSING, PA (November 16, 2024) -- The King's College men's ice hockey fell 5-2 to the Golden Wolves of Alvernia University on Saturday night at Body Zone Sports and Wellness Complex. With the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) loss, the Monarchs move to 1-4-0 overall and 1-3-0 in the MAC, while the Golden Wolves improve to to 3-3-0 with a 2-2-0 conference mark.
Alvernia began the first period with an interference penalty on Jack Natyshak to put King's on the first power play of the game. After the penalty expired, Lucas Ochitwa put the Golden Wolves on the board with an even strength goal assisted by Joey Arnold and Matthew Imbriano at 6:02. At 12:15, Frazer Dodd scored with an assist from Will White to put Alvernia ahead 2-0.
Jayden Baldinelli was penalized for cross checking at 19:03 and, six seconds later, Nolan Barrett scored a power play goal off an assist from Edvin Robertsson and White to extend Alvernia's lead to 3-0. White went on to score his own goal at 19:54, assisted by Frazer and Peter Lopes, to send the teams into the first intermission with Alvernia winning 4-0. First-year goaltender
Ben Williams recorded 14 saves through the first 20 minutes.

Matt Bidini for Williams to begin the second period. Barrett was penalized at 3:35 for charging, putting the Monarchs on a power play in which they recorded three shots. Baldinelli received his second cross checking penalty of the game at 14:15. After that penalty expired,
Alexander Ray received his own cross-checking penalty at 17:29. Alvernia's Sean Kenny was sent to the box at 19:10 for charging and his time carried over into the third period. The Golden Wolves tallied 31 shots in the second period.
Zane Burleigh began the third period in the penalty box after being called for cross-checking 30 seconds into play.
Brendan Krawczyk got the Monarchs on the board with an unassisted goal at 6:28 to make it 4-1. Barrett and Justin Pare were both charged with holding at 8:05, giving King's a five-on-three power play opportunity.

Thomas Soucy's first career goal at 8:32, making the score 4-2. Penalties were issued to Krawczyk and Dean Noonan for holding at 9:56, to Soucy for interference at 12:19 and to
Emil Pyyhtia for cross checking at 13:50. The Golden Wolves found the back of the net for the fifth time of the night at 18:12 as Imbriano scored an even-strength goal with an assist from Matthew Davies.
Patrick Nowak spent the remainder of the game in the penalty box after being called for roughing at 19:02. The 5-2 score stood as time expired. Bidini had 18 saves in goal off another 31 shots faced in the third period. The Golden Wolves outshot the Monarchs 94-28 in the setback. King's concluded the night with 18 blocked shots and 32 faceoff wins.
King's returns home to Revolution Ice Centre next Friday, November 22 to host Neumann University at 7 p.m.
