WILKES-BARRE, PA (June 19, 2024) -- Coming off of their annual convention, the College Sports Communicators (CSC) released their 2024 Women's Track and Field and Cross Country Academic All-District® Team on Tuesday afternoon. Among this year's honorees were senior
Anna Bellucci, juniors
Madison Armitage and
Victoria Zultevicz, and sophomores
Madelynn Perfilio and
Katey Shoemaker.
The 2024 Academic All-District® Women's Track & Field teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the track, in the field, and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes women's track& field honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Bellucci collects her first career accolade from the organization in her final season of competition. The senior biology major finished fourth in the outdoor regional rankings in the hammer throw with a mark of 46.50 meters while also ranking 14th in the region in the indoor weight throw and 35th in the outdoor discus.
Armitage picks up her second honor as a junior physician assistant major. The Mehoopany, Pa. native finished the outdoor season ranked 9th in the region in the high jump with a mark of 1.57 meters while also plaing 13th in the indoor high jump.
Zultevicz also earns her second recognition from the CSC as the junior biochemistry and molecular biology major finished the outdoor season ranked 7th in the region in the heptathlon with 3,932 points while also posting top-10 regionally-ranked marsk in the indoor pentathlon (8th), indoor pole vault (9th), and outdoor pole vault (10th). Additionally, Zultevicz finished the 2023-24 season regionally ranked in the outdoor 100 meter hurdles (12th), indoor 60 meter hurdles (18th), outdoor long jump (20th), indoor long jupm (35th), and outdoor high jump (46th) to qualify for this year's award.
Perfilio earns her first accolade for her young career in 2024. The sophomore business major ranked 18th in the region in the outdoor pole vault with a mark of 2.95 meters while also finishing in the top 50 in the region in the outdoor long jump (20th), outdoor triple jump (22nd), indoor triple jump (32nd), and indoor long jump (44th).
Shoemaker caps off a great sophomore campaign with her first honor from the CSC. The sophomore early elementary education major topped the region and finished 27th in NCAA Division III in the outdoor hammer throw with a mark of 52.06 meters while also finishing the season second in the indoor weight throw, 7th in the outdoor javelin throw, and 13th in the outdoor discus throw.
