WILKES-BARRE, PA (July 8, 2025) -- A staple in the King's College Community will remain in Wilkes-Barre this upcoming academic year as recent alumna Jordyn Bortz joins the King's College softball coaching staff as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator.
"Softball has been a big part of my life, so I am excited to take on this role and be on the other side of it," said Bortz. "I am thrilled to join the coaching staff and ready for a great season!"
A 2025 graduate of King's with a degree in biology, Bortz spent the last four seasons with the Monarch softball program as a student manager, assisting with game-day operations and other duties as assigned. She was heavily involved on campus as the Class President and four-year member of the Student Government Association, an orientation leader, an HCE Co-Leader, a member of the King's Programming Board, and a biology lab assistant.
In addition to her work on campus, Bortz shadowed with Lehigh Valley Pediatrics, was a personal care associate at Country Meadows Retirement Community, a Summer Alliance Program Counselor with the City of Allentown Health Bureau, and Patient Access Representative and Pharmacy Technician for St. Luke's University Health Network. She spent the Fall 2024 semester as a participant in the Disney College Program, serving and preparing food for guests and creating "magic" through her interactions with the guests.
Bortz will pursue her Master's in Healthcare Administration and has already begun her duties as recruiting coordinator this summer.
