WILKES-BARRE, PA (September 12, 2025) -- The Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) slate is upon us as the King's College football team sets its sight on Saturday's 1:00 p.m. kickoff in Doylestown against Delaware Valley University. Both teams enter the contest 0-1 as the Monarchs fell late, 19-16, to Wilkes in the Mayor's Cup game while the Aggies dropped a 38-9 decision to Hampden-Sydeney on their home turf.

The Coaches: Mike Cebrosky is in his second season as the head coach of the Monarchs. Cebrosky led the team to through their historic 2024 season, featuring a 10-2 overall record, perfect 9-0 mark in the MAC, the first outright MAC title in program history, and berth to the NCAA Division III Football Championships. He was named MAC Coach of the Year while also coaching a program-best 20 All-MAC honorees, highlighted by two-time MAC Offensive Player of the Year Russell Minor-Shaw, six D3football.com All-Region players, and Zach Barber as a D3football.com All-American. Mike Isgro enters his second season as the head coach of his alma mater after returning to Doylestown in 2015 to serve in various roles, leading the Aggies to an 8-3 overall record in 2024. Isgro coached Jacquez Mabin who was named MAC Defensive Player of the Year among a list of post-season accolades, and the defense ranked second in all of NCAA Division III a year ago.

Looking at Delaware Valley: The Aggies look to bounce back in the MAC opener this weekend after their week-one loss. The team replaced key pieces in their offense at quarterback and running back but returned a veteran receiver group. Defensively, the linebacker duo of Jeremiah Clark and Micah Bootman return to anchor the other side of the ball. As a team, Delaware Valley was limited to just nine points on 270 yards of offense, including 209 passing yards, while the defense gave up 38 points on 441 yards with a balanced 237 on the ground and 204 in the air. The Aggies struggled on third down, converting just 4-of-15 (26.67%) but were efficient on fourth down as they went 2-for-3 (66.67%). Individually, Brady Beres ran for 33 yards on 11 carries, Cory Gordon caught two passes, including the lone touchdown, for 113 yards, and Mike Galasso threw for 209 yards on 13 completions. Defensively, Jeremiah Clark totaled 15 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, and a quarterback hurry, while Taji Hubard added 10 tackles, including six solo, with a breakup.

Travel Gear: The Monarchs will go with their white-on-white combination with the traditional white road jerseys and white pants. As always, King's will dawn their golden domes this weekend in Doylestown.

Single Digit Tough: The Monarchs award single digits, and now double digits to offensive linemen, based on merit and leadership and are retained throughout their time at King's. The 2025 roster returned two single-digit members from 2024 in Tyler Carey and Brenann Robinson and have added two so far in 2025. The Monarchs now have four Single Digit Tough players: Tyler Carey (3), Brennan Robinson (6), James Mangine (9), and Kaleb Beers (55).

Captains This Weekend: For their conference opener, Michael Richino and Xander Murray will represent the defense while Khalil Blagmon and Jayon Hailey will represent the offense at the coin toss.

A Look at the Monarchs:
  • The Monarchs are on a three-year stretch of post-game appearances and record-breaking numbers and look to continue the trend in 2025.
  • King's looks to replace 16 All-MAC honorees from 2025 while returning First Team running back Brennan Robinson, Second Team running back Jayon Hailey and special teamer Jacob Mullery, and Honorable Mention offensive lineman Kaleb Beers. They'll also replace all six D3football.com All Region recipients and D3football.com All-American Zach Barber.
  • This week's two deep features 12 seniors, including graduate student wide receiver Tyler Carey who earned All-MAC Seocnd Team and D3football.com All Region Second Team recognition in 2022.
  • The staff stands at 15 members, including six alumni in Ben Bakanas, Will Cameron, Mike Karycinski, Sean Lavine, Brendan Mozeleski, and EJ Schreiner.
  • King's was tied for first in the MAC Preseason Poll with Delaware Valley among the 10 conference schools.
  • The King's defense led the MAC in passing defense and defensive efficiency, limiting Wilkes to 109 yards and an 80.2 efficiency percentage, while finishing second in total defense at 236.0 yards per game and fourth as they limited their foes to 19 points.
  • On offense, the team finished second after opening weekend in passing offense at 291.0 yards per contest.
  • Jaelin Mims ranks second in the MAC with 241.0 yards per contest, while Jayon Hailey ranks fourth among receivers at 95.0 yards per game with a touchdown. Devin Duana also finished in the top 10 of receivers with 82.0 yards per game and a touchdown, while Tyler Carey came in 11th at 54.0 yards per game.
  • The trio of Matt Blakemore, James Rush, and Michael Richino tied for the fourth-most tackles among individual athletes this past weekend with 10, while Zach Huslizer finished 11th with nine. Richino tied for first with his 2.0 tackles for loss and 2.0 sacks, while Rush tied for seventh with 1.5. Rush and Xander Murray tied for third with a sack a piece. In the secondary, James Mangine tied for first with three passes defended and was one of six players to have an interception last weekend, while Bryan Kelly tied for third with two.

Up Next: King's will finally open their home schedule next Saturday, September 20th at McCarthy Stadium against FDU-Florham. Kick off is set for 1:00 p.m. in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.
