NEWTOWN, PA (September 23, 2025) -- After anchoring the defense to their first win of the 2025 season, junior defensive tackle
Michael Richino collected a pair of weekly honors. As announced on Tuesday by the respective organizations, Richino was named Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Defensive Player of the Week and to the D3football.com Team of the Week.
In their 27-21 win over FDU-Florham, Richino made five tackles, including three solo, with two tackles for a loss of 10 yards, a seven-yard sack, a forced fumble, and a quarterback hurry. He recorded the strip sack on the final FDU-Florham drive of the game that shut the door on the comeback effort and allowed King's to kneel out the clock for the win.
The weekly honors are both career firsts for Richino. He also marks the first Monarch this season recognized on either weekly awards list, and just the second by D3football.com since the 2023 season.
