WILKES-BARRE, PA (September 25, 2025) -- Ahead of tip off of the 2025-26 season, King's College Executive Director of Athletics and Recreation Andy Orlowski appoints Rich Gray as the Men's Basketball Interim Head Coach as released on Thursday.

Gray takes over for JP Andrejko who announced his departure yesterday afternoon and concluded his career as the all-time program wins leader.

"I am honored to follow in JP's footsteps and lead the men's basketball program this year," said Gray. "I'd like to thank President Reverend Thomas Looney, C.S.C., Vice President for Student Affairs Dr. Anitra McShea, and Executive Director of Athletics and Recreation Andy Orlowski for this opportunity. We have a great group of experienced returning players, some talented first years, and a great coaching staff. I am very excited to get to work. Go Monarchs!"

He joined the Monarchs coaching staff prior to the 2003-04 season and enters his 23rd year with the program in 2025-26. Gray has been heavily involved with the program over his tenure and has served as lead recruiter the past several seasons. In addition, Gray handles many of the day-to-day operations, such as video and scouting, and worked closely with Andrejko to implement practice and game plans.

"Rich's enthusiasm, energy, and genuine connection with our student-athletes make this promotion a natural and well-earned decision," added Orlowski. "His deep-rooted involvement in the program and understanding of the MAC Freedom basketball landscape position him perfectly to lead. I'm thrilled for what this means for our student-athletes and proud to see such a deserving opportunity granted to a loyal assistant and dedicated alumnus like Rich Gray."

Gray is a 2003 graduate of King's with a degree in elementary education and is no stranger to the Wyoming Valley as a former standout at Bishop Hoban where he was the team's leading scorer and captain in his senior season.
