WILKES-BARRE, PA (September 29, 2025)-- The King's College Men's Ice Hockey bench will feature a familiar face in 2025, as Head Coach Race Bennett announced that former Monarch
Erik Borshchevsky will join the staff as an assistant coach.
"I am excited to join the men's ice hockey staff at King's College alongside Coach Race," said Borshchevsky. "During my time at King's, I have greatly appreciated the strong culture and supportive atmosphere on campus, and I look forward to contributing to its continued growth. I am eager to get started with the team and to support the program in reaching its highest potential."
Borshchevsky was a four-year defenseman for the Monarchs, appearing in 78 games over his collegiate career. He contributed consistently as a defenseman, totaling 16 points on four goals and 12 assists, along with significant shot blocking and defensive presence.
A three-time MAC Academic Honor Roll and two-time UCHC All-Academic Team honoree, Borshchevsky was actively involved in the campus community, serving as Vice President of the Accounting Association, participating in the Perspective Leadership Program, and earning induction into Beta Alpha Psi, the international honor society for accounting, finance, and information systems students.
"I am happy to announce the addition of
Erik Borshchevsky to the coaching staff," added Bennett. "Erik has been an integral part of the King's community for the past four years as a student-athlete. His deep understanding of King's College, passion for the hockey program, and drive to improve as a coach and mentor will make him a great addition to our staff."
Borshchevsky earned his bachelor's degree in accounting from King's in 2025. His responsibilities will be to assist in all facets of the program such as recruiting, operations, practice and game preparation, scouting, and more.
