E-TOWN SWIMMERS TOP KING'S
WILKES-BARRE -- Visiting Elizabethtown College won both ends of a Middle Atlantic Conference swim meet against host King's College Wednesday in Scandlon Gymnasium.
The Blue Jays won the men's competition 99-83 while the Elizabethtown women were victorious by a 103-54 count.
In the men's meet King's
Eric Stencovage captured the 100-breaststroke with a time of 1:06.35, while placing second in the 100-butterfly at 59.69.
Nick Ponte was second in the 1000-freestyle with a time of 13:00.25.
Sean McGee was second in the 50-freestyle at 24.87 while Ron Argus was third with a time of 24.91. Pat Seslar was second in the 100-freestyle with a 55.17 while McGee was third at 57.15. In the men's 500-freestyle,
Brian Seslar was second with a time of 5:46.39
The Monarch team of McGee, Stencovage, Ponte, and
Brian Seslar captured the 200-medley relay with a time of 1:50.39
In the women's meet,
Maggie Nealer won the 500-freestyle with a time of 6:04.57 while finishing third in the 200-freestyle with an MAC qualifying time of 2:11.12.
Jess Thomas captured the 100-breaststroke with a winning time of 1:22.16.
Susie Hughes was second in the 100-butterfly with a time of 1:18.87 while
Caitlin Selitto was third at 1:20.82. Becca Smith was second in the 100-freestyle at 1:03.08.
Sara Schmader finished second in the 100-backstroke at 12:56 while Hughes was third with a 1:17.06
King's women's 200-medley relay team of Nealer, Thomas, Schmader, and Smith were second with a time of 2:10.23.
The King's swim team will return to action Friday and Saturday at the Kutztown University Invitational.
