WILKES-BARRE – The King's College women's swim team picked  up its most impressive victory of the year as the Lady Monarchs posted a 178-76 victory over Mt. St. Mary's College (NY) Saturday in Scandlon Gymnasium. With the win, King's improved to 2-3 on the year.

Amanda Casey finished first in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:07.79 and also won the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:27.48. She was also second in the 50 freestyle at 28.34. Alisha Wainwright won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:20.73 and the 200 breaststroke at 2:54.18, while also finishing second in the 100 butterfly at 1:14.09.

Maggie Nealer captured the 200 freestyle with an MAC qualifying time of 2:11.17 and also won  the 500 freestyle at 5:59.70. Becca Smith won the 1,000 freestyle with an MAC qualifying time of 12:28.90 and was second in the 500 freestyle with a time of 6:12.17. Caitlin Casey won the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:11.23.

Sara Schmader won the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:34.84 and was second in the 200 butterfly at 2:36.91. Casey Cloman won the 50 freestyle at 28.33 and was second in the 100 freestyle with a time of 1:02.34. 

In the 200 medley relay, King's team of Amanda Casey, Wainwright, Schmader, and Casey Cloman won with a time of 2:05.39. In the 200 freestyle relay, King's team of Cloman, Smith, Nealer, and Caitlin Casey were victorious with a 1:55.81.

The Monarchs will be idle until December 3 when King's hosts Misericordia University at 6:00 p.m. in Scandlon Gym.
