KING'S FIELD HOCKEY POST 6-3 VICTORY OVER MISERICORDIA

DALLAS, PA – Jenera Quinones recorded a hat-trick to lead the King's College field hockey team to a 6-3 victory, in the Monarchs second conference game against Misericordia on Thursday night in Dallas.

With the win, King's improved to a 7-3 overall record and a 2-0 Freedom conference mark, while Misericordia dropped to a 5-6 overall record and a 1-1 conference record.

Quinones opened up the scoring for the Monarchs in the 9:55 mark with a finishing move from the center of the circle. Heather Kozimor was soon to follow with a goal of her own at 22:55 of the first half to give King's the 2-0 lead. Misericordia would cut into that lead when Megan Lafaw would score from a penalty stroke in the 29:14 mark.

Quinones would strike again, getting the ball into the right side of the net, in the 33:26 minute mark of the first half to give King's the 3-1 lead. Quinones would then later give a nice assist to Danielle Terracciano who would record the fourth goal of the game into a open net in the 44:51 mark in the second half.

The hat-trick by Quinones would be completed in the 60:02 mark as she would put in her own rebounded shot for the 5-1 Monarchs lead. Misericordia would strike back again, to make the score 5-2, when Samantha Sorokas would find a rebounded shot by Kelsey DeBruyne, and push it through in the 62:10 mark. Kozimor would record her second goal in the game in the 64:59 mark of the second half, which gave the Monarchs the 6-2 lead. Misericordia would have one last goal in the 67:11 mark as Jen Lozier found the assist from Amanda Blank, but it would not be enough to help the Cougar comeback.

The Monarchs edged the host by a 17-13 shot margin. Erin McGinley made six saves on the day for King's while Grace Riker made seven stops for the Cougars.
