KING'S WOMEN'S BASKETBALL TO COMPETE IN PEPSI-WEIS MARKET INVITATIONAL AT SUSQUEHANNA
SELINSGROVE — The King's College women's basketball team will return to the hardwood Saturday night when the Lady Monarchs face the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford at 6:00 p.m. in the first round of the Pepsi/Weis Markets Invitational at Susquehanna University.
Host Susquehanna will face Keystone in the other opening round contest at 8:00 p.m. The event concludes Sunday with the consolation game set for 1:00 p.m. And the championship game to follow at 3:00 p.m.

King's is looking to show improvement following a rough opening outing when the Lady Monarchs dropped a 74-47 verdict to defending Colonial State Athletic Conference champion.
In that game, the Lady Monarchs shot just 28.1 (18-64) percent from the field and were outrebounded 62-42, including surrendering 25 offensive boards. Additionally, King's made just 10-of-21 shots from the foul line and were 1-for-14 from three-point range.
Sophomore guard Katlin Michaels posted a team-high 13 points and five rebounds while fellow sophomore guard Celia Rader followed with nine points and two boards. Sophomore forward Lindsay Atchison added eight points with seven rebounds while sophomore forward Molly Dahl contributed six points and eight boards. Junior guard-forward Samantha Simcox chiped in with four points and seven boards in her King's debut after transferring from cross-town foe Wilkes.
Pitt-Bradford enters the tournament with a 1-1 record following a 69-59 victory over Theil College on Wednesday. The Lions dropped their season-opener two days earlier to Adrian College by a 59-49 count.
Junior guard Ashley Seidenstricker tops the squad with 11.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per-game. Junior guard Danielle Zeamer follows with 10.0 points and 8.0 rebounds while senior forward Whitney Cline contributes 10.0 points and 4.0 rebounds.
