King's Women's Basketball Faces Widener In Non-Conference Matchup Monday, View Livestats

KING'S WOMEN'S BASKETBALL FACES WIDENER IN NON-CONFERENCE MATCHUP MONDAY, VIEW LIVESTATS

 

WILKES-BARRE – The King's College women's basketball team looks to get back on the winning track Monday with a non-conference matchup at Widener University at 6:00 p.m.

Widener has won two of the past three contests in the series against King's. The Lady Monarchs posted a 61-55 victory last season against the Pride in Scandlon Gymnasium.

 

King's enters the game with a 2-2 overall mark following an 87-49 loss at the University of Scranton six days ago. Sophomore guard Celia Rader (Scranton, PA, Scranton Prep) leads the Lady Monarch attack averaging 13.5 points and 3.0 rebounds, canning seven three-pointers. Junior forward Paige Carlin (Scotrun, PA, Pocono Mountain East) follows with 9.8 points and 3.8 rebounds. Sophomore guard Katlin Michaels (Berwick, PA, Berwick) adds 9.0 points and 4.0 rebounds. Sophomore forward Molly Dahl (Garrison, NY, Walter Panas) has been solid inside for King's averaging 8.3 points and a team-best 6.8 rebounds. King's averages 61.0 points per-game, while allowing 72.8 points per-contest.

 

Widener stands 4-1 overall on the year after posting an 82-70 victory at Neumann University on Wednesday. Lil Carney tops the squad averaging 14.2 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 5.0 assists. Joanna Persiano follows with 11.0 points and 3.2 rebounds, shooting 11-of-32 from behind the arc. Jennifer Egee and Francesca Lee contribute 7.4 points and 7.2 points respectively. Widener averages 68.8 points per-game, while yielding 60.8 points per-contest.

 

Following the game, King's will open their Freedom Conference slate at Eastern University on Wednesday. Game time is set for 6:00 p.m. in St. David's, Pa.
