KING'S WOMEN'S LAXERS FALL TO MARYWOOD IN HOME OPENER
WILKES-BARRE -- Taylor McKeown scored six goals, including the 100th of her career, as visiting Marywood University posted a 20-5 victory over host King's College in a non-conference women's lacrosse matchup Thursday night at McCarthy Staidum.
With the win, Marywood improve to 4-2 on the year while King's slipped to 0-3
King's opened the game with a 2-1 lea at 21:23 after goals by Andrea Alesso and Krystina Villarreal. Marywood, however, took over by scoring the next 10 goals to build a 12-2 lead at the half.
McKeown and Sodl tallied three goals each during the half while Jennifer Silvestri added a pair for the Pacers. McKeown tallied the 100th goal of her career with 13:14 remaining in the first half.
Alesso led King's with two goals and an assist while Villarreal also tallied a pair of scores. Chelsea Manes also scored for King's. Lady Monarch goalie Rebecca Abruzzese posted nine saves for the Lady Monarchs.
Sodl finished with four goals while Silvestri and Alexis Wiley netted three goals each for the Pacers. Kate Sullivan made 13 stops for Marywood.
King's returns to action Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Lebanon Valley College
