King's comes off a five-day holiday break after the Lady Monarch posted a hard-fought 65-60 victory over traditional Division III power University of Scranton in the team's last game on Tuesday. The victory enabled King's to improve to 3-1 on the year.

Widener, which was 19-7 a year ago, were picked to finish second in the MAC Commonwealth Conference Pre-Season Coaches Poll. The Pride are 2-2 in the early going after posting a convincing 80-52 route of defending Colonial State Athletic Conference champion and NCAA national tournament qualifier Neumann University on Tuesday.

King's is paced by senior small forward Samantha Simcox
who averages 14.8 points and 11.3 rebounds per-game. Junior guard Katlin Michaels follows with 12.5 points, 6.3 assists, and 4.5 rebounds. Senior forward Paige Carlin adds 11.8 points and 2.0 assists while junior guard Celia Rader contributes 8.0 points with eight three-pointers. Freshman center Marissa Manning chips in with 7.8 points and 6.0 boards. King's averages 65.8 points per-game while yielding 58.3 each contest.

Widener is led by junior guards Kate Dellinger and Lil Carney, a pair of returning first-team All-Commonwealth Conference selections. Dellinger, who did not play in Widener's season-opening 66-64 loss to Swarthmore, averages 16.3 points and 9.0 rebounds. Carney, a 5-6 point-guard, contributes with 7.0 points, 4.0 assists, and 2.5 steals.

Junior forward Vanessa Hejnas
adds 14.3 points and 3.8 rebounds while sophomore guard Joanna Persiano follows with 12.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 3.5 assists. The Pride average 69.2 points while allowing 58.2 each contest.

King's will then open its MAC Freedom Conference schedule Wednesday when the Lady Monarchs travel to Doylestown to face Delaware Valley College at 6:00 p.m. as part of a women's and men's doubleheader against the Aggies.
