King's Women's Laxers Down Albright 21-5

Wilkes-Barre, PA-- Behind a six point performance from Amanda Harney the King's College women's lacrosse team knocked off visiting Albright College 21-5 Saturday afternoon at McCarthy Stadium.

The Lady Monarchs jumped out early with Mariah Masciarelli notching a goal just 11 seconds into the contest on a pass from Harney. King's found the back of the net the next three goals to take a 4-0 lead at 23:59.

The Lions got a goal from Kim Harkins at 22:30 to cut the lead to 4-1, but the Lady Monarchs scored a pair of goals from Emily Foley and Harney. King's took a 15-3 lead into the half.

Catherine McMahon picked up right where the Lady Monarchs left off in the first half scoring at the 27:18 mark from Jessica Ormrod. Harkins scored a pair of goals to cut the lead to with 18-5 but the Lions couldn't get any closer. King's netted three more goals capped by a Claire Parolski tally.

In addition to Masciarelli matched Hareny with three goals and three assists. Chelsea Manes netted three goals and an assist for four points. Foley found the back of the net three times while McMahon tallied a pair of goals. Every field player for the Lady Monarchs tallied a goal.

Harkins paced the Lions four goals and Tia Claxton put the ball behind the goalie once.

King's out shot the Lions 35-16 and held a 16-12 edge in groundballs.

The Lady Monarchs now start a four game road trip when they travel to Lancaster Bible for a 4:00 p.m. start on Tuesday. King's next home matchup will be on April 5th against Arcadia.
