King's Women's Lacrosse Falls 19-8 to Lebanon Valley
Anneville, Pa.-- The King's College women's lacrosse team dropped a 19-8 decision to host Lebanon Valley in a non-conference matchup Saturday afternoon.
The Lady Monarchs (5-4) got on the board first on an unassisted tally by
Amanda Harney just 47 seconds into the contest. Lebanon Valley (5-4) responded in a big way with the next nine goals capped by Bailey Benz goal from Hana Krchel. Harney stopped the run with a goal at 9:34 to make the score 9-2.
The Flying Dutchmen got a pair of goals from Krechel and one from Allison McGinniss to extend the lead. Harney picked up her third goal of the half at 5:11 and
Emily Foley scored with 2:42 to play to cut the halftime deficit to 12-4.
King's netted the first two scores of the second half on unassisted goals from
Chelsea Manes and Harney to cut the lead to 12-6, but were unable to get any closer the rest of the way.
Harney led the way on offense for King's finding the back of the net four times. Foley got two points on a pair of goals.
Mariah Masciarelli also picked up two points on two assists. Manes and
Krystina Villarreal each tallied a goal.
Krechel paced Lebanon Valley with a game-high nine points on six goals and three assists. Benz chipped in four goals and one assist for five points.
Megan Withrow took the loss in net making nine saves.
The Lady Monarchs open conference play Thursday when they host Arcadia at McCarthy Stadium at 4:00 p.m.
