Lady Monarchs Lacrosse Makes Home Debut on Saturday

Wilkes-Barre, PA— The King's College women's lacrosse team will come home to McCarthy Stadium for the first time this season Saturday at 1:00 p.m. when they host Cazenovia College.

The Lady Monarchs opened the season with a 21-8 victory over Hood College and then dropped a 16-5 decision to Susquehanna. Cazenovia opened their season with a 15-4 loss to Centenary.

Junior captain Chelsea Manes leads King's in scoring with nine goals and three assists for a total of 12 points. Fellow junior Krystina Villareal has tallied nine points including six goals on seven shots and three helpers. Amanda Harney has had a solid start to her sophomore season with seven goals and three assists for 10 points.

The Wildcats are paced by senior Christy Foster who scored two goals on four shots and also controlled three draws in the opener. Melissa Rivera and Danielle Clark each chipped in a goal against Centenary. Goalkeeper Christina Marra made 15 stops and allowed 15 goals this season.

Next up for the Lady Monarchs is a road matchup against Alvernia on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m.
