Chelsea Manes Breaks Single Season Goal Record in Loss to FDU

Chelsea Manes set the King's College record for goals win a single season, but the King's women's lacrosse team fell 16-13 at FDU-Florham Saturday afternoon in its Freedom Conference finale.
Manes found the back of the net four times to finish the regular season with 66 goals surpassing Lindsay Sabo's record of 64.
The Lady Monarchs fell to 10-7 overall and 4-2 in the Freedom Conference with the loss and finish seeded third in the Freedom Conference and will travel to Eastern on Wednesday for the opening round of the playoffs. FDU (11-6, 6-0) is the conferences top seed.
The Devils led 13-11 and tallied three striaght goals late in the second half to open the lead to 16-11 with 6:30 to play. Manes tallied a pair of unassisted goals at 6:02 and 4:51 to cut the lead to 16-13, but that was as close as the Monarchs got.
In addition to Manes
Krystina Villarreal chipped in four points on three goals and an assist.
Amanda Harney scored three goals.
Mariah Masciarelli scored twice.
Breana Kilpatrick paced the the FDU offense scoring eight goals on 13 shots. Katie Rolwood added six points on four goals and two assists. Corutney Rendinar added one goal and three helpers. FDU held a 33-24 advantage in shots.
Megan Withrow took the loss in net for the Lady Monarchs making eight saves. Grace Warburton picked up the win between the pipes while making nine saves.
The Lady Monarchs take on Eastern in the opening round of the Freedom Conference playoffs at a time to be determined.
