Lady Monarch Laxers Down Arcadia 15-12 in Freedom Conference Opener

KING'S WOMEN'S LAXERS DEFEAT ARCADIA IN FREEDOM CONFERENCE OPENER
WILKES-BARRE --The King's College women's lacrosse team opened a 11-8 halftime lead and never trailed in the game as the Lady Monarchs opened their 2012 Freedom Conference schedule with a 15-12 victory over Arcadia University Tuesday at McCarthy Stadium.

With the win, King's improved to 6-4 overall and 1-0 in league play. Arcadia slipped to 4-6 and 0-2.

Amanda Harney led the Lady Monarch attack with five goals and one assist. Mariah Masciarelli also added five goals while Chelsea Manes contributed four goals and two assists with five ground balls. Catherine McMahon netted one goal, Krystina Villarreal dished out two assists. Emily Foley posted a team-high eight draw controls.
King's goalie Megan Withrow made five saves in goal.

Arcadia was paced by Haylee Molloy with four goals and three assists while Jaclyn Feffer netted three goals.

King's held a commanding 37-22 advantage in shots while leading 18-13 in ground balls.

The Lady Monarchs will be idle until Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. at Misericordia University.
