KING'S WOMEN'S LAXERS DOWN LYCOMING 15-14 ON HARNEY GOAL WITH 0:12 LEFT

Amanda Harney

WILLIAMSPORT -- Amanda Harney scored the game-winning goal with 0:12 left in the contest as the King's College women's lacrosse team posted a dramatic 15-14 victory over host Lycoming College Friday in Williamsport.

With the win, King's improved to 2-0 while Lycoming slipped to 0-2.

King's trailed 7-6 at the half, then 9-6 after the Warriors scored the first two goals of the second half. After a Harney goal with 23:11 remaining cut the lead to 9-7, Lycoming responded with a goal three minutes later to push the score to 10-7 with 20:02 on the clock.

King's then got back-to-back goals form Chelsea Manes and Mariah Masicarelli
to trim toe score to 10-9 with 17:43 left. But the Warriors again countered with two goals of their own to extend the lead to 12-9 with 16:57 to go.

From there the Lady Monarchs made a major push and scored five straight goals, getting two each from Masciarelli
and Harney, along with another by manes to take a 14-12 lead with 5:48 to play.

Lycoming, however, battled back and scored consecutive goals to tie the game with 3:11 to goal. With King's on the offensive and attacking the net, Harney was fouled and was awarded a free position shot. The Junior converted her attempt to score what proved to be the game-winning goal.

King's outshot Lycoming 31-28 and held a 16-15 advantage in draw controls. Lycoming posted a 32-26 lead in ground balls.

Masciarelli
led King's with six goals and two assists while Harney added five goals. Manes tallied two goals and an assist while Catherine McMahon and Krystina Villarreal posted one goal and one assist apiece. Lady Monarch goalie Alisa Marino made 10 saves in net.

Maurenn
