KING'S WOMEN'S LACROSSE FALLS TO WILKES 19-13

WILKES-BARRE — The King's College women's lacrosse team raced out to a 6-1 lead just 7:29 into the game but host Wilkes University went on a decisive 10-0 run en route to a 19-13 victory Tuesday at Schmidt Stadium.

With the win, King's post-season playoff hope took a hit as the Lady Monarchs fell to 6-9 overall and 2-3 in Freedom Conference play. Wilkes, meanwhile, improved to 9-3 and 3-2 in conference games. 

Emily Foley paced King's with four goals, one assist, and eight draw controls while Krystina Villarreal also had four goals. Amanda Harney tallied three goals, seven ground balls. And five draws while Chelsea Manes and Mariah Masciarelli chipped in with one goal each. King's goalie Alisa Marino posted seven saves. 

For Wilkes, Carley Smith scored seven goals with three assists while Madeline Brownse and Gabby Ford registered four goals apiece. Lady Colonel keeper Brittaney Costigan also made seven stops.

King's closes out the regular-season Saturday with a 1:00 p.m. home matchup with FDU-Florham.
