KING'S WOMEN'S CAGERS RALLIES PAST CLARKSON, 77-76

ROCHESTER, NY -- Kayla Feairheller hit a go-ahead three-pointer with 0:31 left and Marissa Manning blocked the potential game-winning shot at the buzzer as the King's College women's basketball team posted a dramatic 77-76 come-from behind victory over Clarkson University in the consolation game of the Check Resler Invitational at the University of Rochester, Rochester, NY.

With the win King's improved to 2-2 on the year while Clarkson slipped to 2-2.

King's overcame a slow start in which the Lady Monarchs trailed 25-13 in the first half but used a late run to close to within 36-31 at he break.

In the second half the Lady Monarchs took its first lead of the game when Feairheller made a driving lay-up to put King's ahead 42-41 with 16:19 to play. Burt Clarkson eventually recaptured the lead at 48-46 on an inside basket bu Madison Shea at the 14:05 mark. 

Clarkson later took a 51-46 lead on a Cara Manfredi three-pointer with 13:28 but King's would not be denied. 

The Lady Monarchs kept the score close and trailed 66-62 before Katie Dugan buried a three-pointer and Kasey Seitz scored on a driving lay-up to give King's a 67-66 advantage with 6:25 on the clock. King's eventually took a four-point lead when Olivia Hoffman scored inside to push the score to 72-68 with 3:39 to go. 

Clarkson fought back and recaptured the lead on a basket bu Ashley Loggins at the 2:11 mark and one-of-two foul shots from Stephan Grobe with 76-74 with 0:54 remaining.

But on King's next possession Feairheller drained a three-pointer from the right wing to put the Lady Monarchs ahead. Clarkson had an opportunity to win the game but Manning swatted away an inside shot to end the contest.

Dugan scored a career-high 20 points for King's on 6-of-11 from three-point range. Feairheller, who was named to the all-tournament team, followed with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Jennifer Fabian contributed 10 points and 10 rebounds while Kasey Seitz posted eight points and eight assists.  Shae Grim and manning chipped in with 10 points apiece. 

King's, which hurt itself with 12 first-half turnovers, committed seven in the second half.

Loggins led Clarkson with 23 points while Stephanie Grobe and Manfredi added 17 and 12 respectively.

King's returns to action Tuesday at the University of Scranton in a 5:30 p.m. matchup.
