King's Lady Laxers Fall to Lycoming

KING'S WOMEN'S LAXERS FALL TO LYCOMING, 17-11

WILKES-BARRE -- Casey Maguire scored six goals and Savannah Fox added four to power the Lycoming College women's lacrosse team to a 17-11 victory over host King's College in a non-conference matchup Tuesday at McCarthy Stadium.

With the game tied 2-2 Lycoming scored nine straight goals to build a 11-2 lead with 3:00 left in the half. King's trimmed the lead to 11-4 at the break when Amanda Harney scored two straight goals for the Lady Monarchs . Savannah Fox and Casey McGuire score three goals each for Lycoming in the opening stanza. King's managed to outscore the Warriors 7-6 in the second half but would draw no closer than 13-7 after an Amanda Harney goal with 23:36 left.
Harney led King's with four goals and one assist while Catherine McMahon and Jess Ormrod added three goals each.  Emily Foley also scored for King's.

Courtney Stefanik made 11 saves for the Lady Monarchs.

Lycoming outshot King's 37-27 while the Lady Monarchs held a 17-15 lead in ground balls. King's also won 17 draws compraed to 13 for Lycoming.

King's returns to action Saturday with a 1:00 p.m. home matchup with Cazenovia College.
