KING'S LADY LAXERS DROP 6-5 TRIPLE OT VERDICT TO EASTERN

ST. DAVIDS -- Shannon Wilcox scored the game winning goal 0:30 into the third overtime period as host Eastern posted a 6-5 victory over visiting King's College Wednesday in St. Davids

With the win Eastern improved to 4-5 and 1-0 in conference play while King's slipped to 2-6 and 0-1.

King's took a 4-3 lead at the half as Amanda Harney scored three of her four total goals in the opening session. Eastern outscored King's 2-0 in the second half until Harney sent the game into overtime on a goal with 3:38 left in regulation.

After two scoreless overtime periods, Wilcox scored on a free position shot to end the game.

Harney finished with four goals while Gabriella Morrocu added the fifth. Anna Dainauski chipped in with an assist. King's goalie Courtney Stefanik allowed a career-low six goals in the game, making 11 saves.

King's held a 32-31 advantage in shots while Eastern led 30-26 in ground balls. Eastern also held a 11-4 advantage in draws.

King's will next host cross-town rival Wilkes Saturday at 1:00 p.m. with the Lady Monarchs hosting a Play Gray Day to raise awareness of brain cancer.
