KING'S SWIMMERS WIN FIRST EVER MEETING AGAINST CROSS-TOWN FOE WILKESFull Box ScoreWILKES-BARRE — King's College and Wilkes University have competed against one another for years in a wide variety of sports. Add women's and men's swimming to the list. For the first time ever, the two local colleges separated by just four blocks in downtown Wilkes-Barre squared off with King's winning the women's event 101-65 while also capturing the men's contest 100-50 Wilkes is in its first season of varsity swimming.
With the win King's women's team posted its best dual meet team ever with a 9-3 record while the Monarchs men finished with a 4-7 mark as both squads celebrated Senior Day.
For the women
Macawley Brown won the 50-freestyle at 26.24 and the 200-butterfly with a 2:16.70 while
Katie Fitch captured the 200-freestyle with a time of 2:09.36 and the 500-freestyle at 5:45.71.
Caroline Fitch was victorious in the 200 individual medley with a 2:29.96 and touched second in the 500-freestyle at 5:51.56
Gabrielle Corpuz won the 100-freestyle at 59.51while
Brigid Wynn was a winner in the 200-backstroke with a 2:22.02 and was second in the 50-freestyle at 27.60.
Hannah Oney was second in the 200-individual medley with a 2:34.35.
Chrissy O'Loughlin was third in the 200-individual medley at 2:35.68. Gabby Pellicciotto was third in the 100-freesytyle with a 1:13.83 while
Shannon Johnson was third in the 500-freestyle at 6:17.02.
King's 200-medley relay team of Corpuz,
Marybeth Rudy, Brown, and
Caroline Fitch were winners with a time of 1:57.50.
For the men,
Kyle Newton was victorious in the 50-freestyle with a 23.59 and in the 200-butterfly at 2:12.40.
James McLaughlin was a winner in the 200-individual medley at 2:15.12 and in the 200-backstroke with s 2:09.28
Chris Lukashewski won the 100-freestyle with a 50.96 and was second in the 500-freestyle at 5:45.07 while
James Lynch captured the 200-freestyle with a 2:03.46 and was third in the 100-freestyle at 54.88.
Michael Sweeney won the 500-freestyle at 5:31.07 while
Matthew Dickson was second in the 200-individual medley with a 2:22.40.
Lucas Crock touched second in the 200-butterfly at 2:26.25;
David Bors was second in the 200-freestyle with a 2:06.86; while
Josh Shoemaker was third in the 50-freestyle with 23.95. King's 200-medley relay team of Newton, Dickson, Crock, and Sweeney were winners with a time of 1:47.97.

King's will now be idle until the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships February 12-15 at the Graham Aquatic Center in York, Pa.
King's senior class was honored before the meet.
