KING'S FOOTBALL HOSTING LYCOMING IN 1ST HOME GAME SINCE SEPTEMBER 19
KING'S MEDIA GAME NOTESWILKES-BARRE -- The King's College football will play its first home game in nearly a month when the Monarchs host Middle Atlantic Conference rival Lycoming College Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at McCarthy Stadium.
King's last played at home on September 19 when the Monarchs defeated FDU-Florham 35-28 in overtime . Since then, King's played two away games, prior to an off-week last week.
The time off will hopefully help the Monarchs recover physically as King's was without a number of injured starters, including starting quarterback
Tom Hehre, in the team's last game against Stevenson on October 3.

ABOUT THE GAME:Today is game-six for both King's College and Lycoming College and also the fifth game of the MAC schedule. Both teams are looking to snap two-game losing streams with each squad last winning on September 19.
ABOUT THE SERIES:This is the 25th all-time meeting between the teams with Lycoming holding a 17-6-1 advantage. The Monarchs and Warriors have split the last two meetings with Lycoming winning 28-14 last season in Williamsport while the Monarchs were victorious 28-24 in 2013.
THE COACHES:Monarch mentor Jeff Knarr is in his sixth season of rebuilding the program at King's and owns a 15-40 career record. Lycoming coach Mike Clark is in his eighth year and is currently 49-27.
LAST WEEK:Both King's and Lycoming enjoyed off weeks. Each team last played on October 3 with King's falling 13-7 at Stevenson while Lycoming dropped a 41-38 overtime verdict at Lebanon Valley.
KING'S ON OFFENSE: MULTIPLE-IThe Monarch offense is last in the MAC in averaging 249.6 yards of total offense per-game. The Monarchs are seventh with 159.2 passing yards and ninth in rushing at 90.4 yards each contest. Senior quarterback
Tom Hehre, who missed King's last game with Stevenson due to an injury, has completed 71-of-129 passes for 594 yards with one touchdown and six interception He has also rushed for 91 yards on 41 attempts. Freshman tailback
Gabe Brown owns a team-high 264 rushing yards on 70 carries with two touchdowns. Junior
Zack Funk adds 120 yards on 32 carries with one score.

Tyler Marroni has eight receptions for 92 yards. Brown has also caught eight passes out of the backfield for 30 yards. King's returns four offensive line starters, including senior center

LYCOMING ON OFFENSE: MULTIPLE PRO-STYLE The Lycoming offense is fourth in the MAC in total yards with 354.4 yards each game. The Warriors are fourth in rushing with 171.6 yards and sixth in passing at 182.8 yards each contest. Running the offense is junior Chase Whiteman who has completed 62-of-114 passes for 840 yards with five touchdowns and five interceptions. He has also rushed for 155 yards on 68 carries with one score. Junior tailback Blake Bowman tops the running game with 431 yards on 95 attempts with a 4.5 yards per-carry average with five touchdowns.
Sophomore Scott Palmer follows with 241 yards on 48 carries with a 5.0 yards per-carry average with one score. The receivers are led by senior standout Ryan Umpleby with 22 catches for 310 yards and three touchdowns. Fellow senior Pay Whalen adds 13 catches for 247 yards and one TD while 6-foot-5 freshman receiver Nick Costello follows with 12 receptions for 125 yards and one score.
KING'S ON DEFENSE: MULTIPLE 3-4 The Monarchs defense enters the game ranked seventh in total MAC defense, allowing 392.0 yards of total offense per-game. King's is eighth against the run in yielding 204.0 yards while standing sixth against the pass in permitting 188.0 yards through the air. The group is led by 2014 All-MAC selection
Bobby Russell at linebacker. Russell has made 30 tackles with one interception, two fumble recoveries, one forced fumble, one sack, and one blocked field goal. Senior defensive end
Michael Martina tops the team with 33 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss with 6.0 sacks and one forced fumble. Senior Safety

LYCOMING ON DEFENSE: 4-3 The Lycoming College defense is ranked fifth overall in the MAC in allowing 381.2 total yards each game. The Warriors are fourth versus the run in yielding 125.4 yards on the ground and ninth against the pass in allowing 255.8. Senior cornerback Matt Malecki tops the squad with 32 tackles and an interception. Senior linebacker Phil Schron follows with 30 tackles and two tackles for loss. Sophomore safety Mike Ward adds 27 tackles with two interceptions while Brian Campbell has made 27 tackles with 4.0 sacks.
Senior defensive tackle Josh Cook has made 26 tackles with 2.5 sacks while Junior defensive tackle Jon Rummel also has 26 tackles with 4.0 sacks. . Freshman Dominic Loffredo and sophomore safety Caleb Robbins adds 20 tackles. Freshman linebacker John Peters chips in with 19 tackles and an interception.
NEXT WEEK:King's travels up Route 309 to take on local rival Misericordia University at 1:00 p.m. at Mangelsdorf Field in Dallas.
