SEITZ THREE-POINTER WITH 0:12 LEFT PROPELS KING'S WOMEN PAST MANHATTANVILLE 68-65

PURCHASE, NY -- Kasey Seitz broke open a tied game with a critical three-pointer with 0:12 left as the King's College women's basketball team posted an important 68-65 Freedom Conference road win over host Manhattaville College Saturday in Purchase, NY.

With the win, King's improved to 9-12 overall but more importantly, upped its Freedom record to 5-5 with four games remaining. Manhattanville, meanwhile, slipped to 10-11 and 1-9 in league competition.

King's took a 29-27 lead into the half thanks to 11 points from Jennifer Fabian. But Manhattanville came out of the locker room and outscored King's 9-4 to take a 36-33 lead with 15:17 left in the contest. King's then came back recapture the lead at 39-38 after an inside bucket from Olivia Hoffman with 13:34 on the clock.

The bucket ignited 14-6 King's run, capped by a three-pointer from Katie Dugan, one-of-two free throws from Maggie Michael, and a driving lay-up by Kayla Feairheller to push the King's lead to 51-44 with 8:37 to play.

Manhattanville, however, responded with a flurry, going on a 9-0 run over the span of 1:47 totake a 53-51 lead after a lay-up from Alison Caiazzo and two free throws by Sarah Kelly with 6:44 remaining. But it was King's turn to answer with a 8-0 run when back-to-back baskets by Tara Zdancewicz and Seitz gave the Lady Monarchs a 59-53 lead with 3:52 on the clock.

With King's clinging to a 65-64 lead with 0:49 to play, Manhattanville missed out on an opportunity to take the lead when Bri Pabon made one-of-two foul shots to knot the game at 65-65 with 0:35 to go.

From there King's worked the ball around to Hoffman, who found Seitz open for the go-ahead three-pointer with 0:12 left.  Manhattanville had a chance to tie the game but a three-pointer by Ashley Raaf with 0:03 remaining fell off the mark as King's picked an important conference road win in a gym the Lady Monarchs were beaten by a 88-68 count a year ago.

Hoffman finished with 16 points, eight rebounds, five assists, four blocks, and three steals. Fabian tallied 13 points with nine boards and two steals. Seitz added 11 points, seven rebounds, and five assists while Feairheller posted nine points on the day.
