KING'S WOMEN'S LACROSSE FALL TO LYCOMING, 21-9

WILLIAMSPORT, PA --- The King's College women's lacrosse team dropped a 21-9 decision to undefeated Lycoming College on Wednesday afternoon at the Shangraw Complex in Williamsport, PA.

Lycoming improved its record to 6-0 with the win while King's falls to 2-3.

After Anastasia Araviakis got King's on the board first with a free position goal a minute and a half into the game the Warriors scored seven of the next eight goals to take a 7-2 lead. The Monarchs would be able to cut the deficit to 7-4 on goals by Nina Sjostrom and Gabriella Morrocu but four straight goals by the Warriors increased their advantage to 11-4 before Morrocu scored again right before the half to cut the Warriors lead to 11-5 at halftime.  

Kendra McCoy and Araviakis each scored a goal to open up the second half before Lycoming scored the next three goals. Morrocu then ended the Warriors run with her third goal of the game to cut the deficit to 14-8. The Warriors put the game away with the next six goals to take a 20-8 lead with 2:05 left in the game.

Gabriella Morrocu and Anastasia Araviakis led the Monarchs with three goals and one assist each. Kendra McCoy, Sarah Almony, and Nina Sjostrom all had one goal and one assist each for King's. Victoria Zawacki got her first loss in goal while making seven saves.

Casey Maguire led the Warriors with nine points on three goals and six assists while Jordan Lazarich had eight points on three goals and five assists. Savannah Fox scored five goals and Meghenn Jackson had four goals and two assists. Nicole Gerling got the win in goal for Lycoming making seven saves.

The Warriors outshot King's 35-19 while also holding the advantage in ground balls 27-20.

King's will next be in action on Saturday when they host Alvernia University at McCarthy Stadium at 1:00 p.m.
