KING'S WOMEN'S LAXERS TRAVELING TO MISERICORDIA FOR FREEDOM TOURNEY SEMI-FINALSWILKES-BARRE — The King's College women's lacrosse team will travel to Dallas to face Misericordia University at 4:00 p.m in the semi-finals of the Freedom Conference Tournament.

A year ago the Monarchs were 3-10 overall and 1-5 in the Freedom Conference but improved to 8-6 and 4-2 under coach Laura Patton. Misericordia, meanwhile, is 8-8. The teams played April 21 in Dallas with Misericordia posting a 19-15 victory.
KIng's is led by the dynamic offensive dual of freshman
Anastasia Araviakis and sophomore
Gabriella Morrocu. Araviakis tops the Monarchs with 64 points on 49 goals and 15 assists with 61 ground balls and 41 caused turnovers while Morrocu follows with 55 points on 45 goals and 10 assists with 63 draws and 28 ground balls.
Freshman
Kendra McCoy has made a hearty contribution with 27 points on 22 goals and five assists with 47 ground balls while fellow rookie
Sarah Almony adds 22 points on 19 goals and three assists. Junior
Breanna Schurgot chips in with 21 points on 19 goals and two assists with 30 ground balls.
Megan O'Brien contributes with 38 ground balls and 28 caused turnovers.
Misericordia is paced by Melina Juliano with 61 points on 38 goals and 23 assists. Brooke North follows with 48 points by 46 goals and two assists while Liz Mulvey adds 43 points on 30 goals and 13 assists.
The winner will play the survivor of the other Freedom Conference semi-final pairing between top-seeded FDU-Florham and fourth-seeded Eastern on Saturday at the site of the highest remaining seed.
