KING'S WOMEN'S LAXERS FALL TO MISERICORDIA
DALLAS -- The Misericordia women's lacrosse jumped out to a 7-2 halftime lead and never trailed as the Cougars posted a 12-2 Freedom Conference victory over King's College Wednesday in Dallas.
With the win Misericordia improved to 7-6 while King's slipped to 3-9.
The Cougars took a 3-0 lead before King's got on the board with a Gabriella Morrocu goal with 15:52 left in the opening half. But Misericordia responded with four straight scores to built a 7-1 lead before King's Anastasia Araviakis found the net with 1:28 on the clock.
In the second half it was all Misericordia as the Cougars scored all five goals during the final 30 minutes of play.
Misericordia outshot King's 29-13 and held a 33-28 advantage in ground balls and also forced 30 King's turnovers while committing 23.
Olivia Garcia, Erin Baker, and Cara Spector led the Cougars with three goals each. King's goalie Victoria Zawacki made 13 saves.
King's returns home on Saturday to host Manhattanville on Senior Day at 1:00 p.m. at McCarthy Stadium.
